Ron Paul Supporters Will Be Targeted by Gary Johnson in Tampa

June 24, 2012 - 6:00pm

Former Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico, the presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party, will be looking to steal a little of the national spotlight away from the Republican convention in Tampa in August as he makes a pitch to supporters of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.

With Paul not expected to endorse former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, the Johnson camp hopes to make inroads with the maverick Texas congressmans backers.

Majority of Americans Behind Arizona Immigration Law, Rasmussen Poll Shows

While the national media is focused on the looming U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding the federal health-care that President Barack Obama signed in 2010, the fate of another constitutional challenge should be decided this week--the case against the Arizona immigration law.

A new poll from Rasmussen Reports unveiled on Monday shows that a majority of Americans--55 percent--hope that the Court lets the Arizona law stand while 26 percent say they hope it is overturned. Almost a fifth of the voters surveyed--19 percent--remain on the fence.

Tropical Storm Debby Continues to Wade off the Panhandle

As expected, Tropical Storm Debby remains stationary over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico, dumping rain on those along the Floridas Panhandle.

And little change is expected in the next couple of days, according to the National Weather Service.

Tracking models vary, with models heading west, north, east and northeast, with the latter direction deemed mostly likely due influencing from a mid-tropospheric trough over the northeast.

According to an email that she sent out to supporters over the weekend, Sink is sharing her email list with Nelson and intends to help his campaign.

Alex Sink and Bill McBride's Daughter Weds in North Carolina

Mount Airy, N.C., is probably saying, thank you Florida voters -- thanks to you, we got to put on a pretty darn good wedding.

If Democrat Alex Sink had defeated Rick Scott in 2010, Sink, with her husband Bill McBride at her side, would have been the governor of Florida today, and probably -- though there's no telling for sure -- her daughter Lexi McBride would have been married in Florida.

Florida is, after all, as Sink often chirped, "truly paradise." Surely it would be bad form for a governor's daughter to marry three states away.
