Pollster Matt Towery says "the results largely followed party lines, but independents broke in favor of Romney, moving the dial in his favor." The poll sampled 373 likely voters nationwide, with a margin of error of 5 points.

Those along Floridas Space Coast, and northern parts of the Treasure Coast, may get to see the nations newest GPS satellite launched by a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Medium rocket from Cape Canaveral Thursday morning. The satellite is one of 12 that Boeing is building for the U.S. Air Force. The 206-foot-tall rocket has a 19-minute launch window starting at 8:10 a.m. As of Wednesday afternoon, the launch has a 60 percent chance of favorable weather.

The next meeting of the Task Force on Citizen Safety and Protection, formed in the wake of the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman shooting in Sanford and reviewing the state's 'Stand Your Ground' law, is set for Oct. 16 in Jacksonville. The meeting, to begin at 9 a.m. and have public comment starting at 1 p.m., will be held at the Edward Waters College, Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex.

Gov. Rick Scott is heading to Apalachicola Bay on Wednesday to inspect the area impacted by the decline in oyster and other fisheries. Scott is scheduled to be at the Franklin County Fire Station in East Point around 1:15 p.m. to talk with county officials and residents.

Bennett said he requested the investigation after learning about two whistle-blower lawsuits filed against KB Home by former employees in recent years, The Herald reported.

Lane Wright, who joined the governors press office after working at the Sunshine State News, has taken a job with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, according to internal Capitol email. Lane Wright typed a farewell to a group of colleagues on Friday, announcing his new position which began Monday. Wright follows Brian Burgess out of the governors office. Burgess, who was Scotts director of communications, has taken a position with the Republican Party of Florida.
