Jackie Schutz Promoted to Press Secretary in Governor's Office

With a second departure from the governors press office, Jackie Schutz has been promoted from deputy press secretary to press secretary, a move that should please most members of the media.

Also John Tupps, who had been a public information officer handling social media, has moved into Schutzs role as deputy press secretary.

Tom Yu has also joined the staff for research and writing. Yu follows Melissa Sellers from the Republican National Convention crew in Tampa into the governors office.

Sellers, who was also a former communications director for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, replaced Brian Burgess as director of communications. Burgess left last month for the Republican Party of Florida.

On Friday, Lane Wright announced he would begin a job Monday with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
