Former Congressman Allen West held an online straw poll between candidates for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016 through his Allen West Guardian Fund PAC -- and the winner was Ted Cruz. The senator from Texas took 58 percent of the vote when matched against Rand Paul in a runoff. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., submitted an amendment Friday to the Defense Appropriations bill that would prohibit providing funding, arms or any support to any group involved in military action in Syria. Last month, Rooney introduced the "Congressional Accountability and Oversight in Syria Act." which would essentially prohibit the Obama administration from providing weapons or support to any faction in Syria without first receiving authorization from Congress. It would also prohibit the American military from exercising military force in Syria.

A poll released on Friday shows she starts off as the underdog to topple the incumbent senator. The Rev. Jesse Jackson has called a boycott of the Sunshine State if the Department of Justice doesn't bring forth a civil rights case against George Zimmerman. Jackson called Florida an "apartheid state" in a CNN interview Thursday. Jackson said President Barack Obama must, at some point, "offer the moral leadership he has to offer."
