Allen West's 2016 Online Straw Poll Won by Ted Cruz
Former Congressman Allen West held an online straw poll between candidates for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016 through his Allen West Guardian Fund PAC -- and the winner was Ted Cruz.
The senator from Texas took 58 percent of the vote when matched against Rand Paul in a runoff. While the Florida Republican did not include himself as one of the contenders, besides Cruz and Paul, West included a host of possible presidential candidates including Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Condi Rice, Donald Trump, Paul Ryan, Scott Walker, Rick Santorum, and more.
There are few things more important than who we pick to be the next president of the United States, West wrote on Friday. Right now, this nation we love is heading down the wrong path. The liberal progressives in Washington view the U.S. as their experimental laboratory for their failed leftist policies and it's compromising our economic prosperity, national security, and individual liberty. The next president will be tasked with repairing the damage of the past eight years and restoring America to greatness -- so we must choose him or her carefully.
