Rubio Blasts Crist's 'Photo Ops' in Gulf

Gov. Charlie Crist, who skipped last weekend's National Governors Conference to devote more time to the Gulf spill, was assailed by Marco Rubio today for political opportunism.

"(Crist) is leveraging his office for political gain, using the Gulf as a photo op. I don't think there's any disputing that point," Rubio said during a conference call. "He's just adding insult to injury with a special (legislative) session."

Recent polls show Rubio and Crist running neck-and-neck in the U.S. Senate race this fall.

Jeff Greene Bashes Charlie Crist on U.S. Sugar Deal

You wouldn't normally think Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Greene and ultra-conservative tea partiers would have a lot in common, but the billionaire Democrat is among the chorus of critics who believe Gov. Charlie Crist's land acquisition deal with U.S. Sugar Corporation is bad for Florida.

Greene had just completed an airboat tour of the Everglades Friday when he explained to Sunshine State News the "wrong way to do it, Charlie" summary of the governor's deal with U.S. Sugar.

Rasmussen Poll Finds Floridians Oppose Obama Suit Against Arizona, Want Like Laws Here

A new poll reveals Floridians are strongly opposed to President Barack Obamas administration suing Arizona for its measures of cracking down on illegal immigration -- and want a similar law in Florida.

The Rasmussen Reports' poll of 500 likely voters across Florida found that 60 percent opposed the Obama administrations legal challenge to Arizona, while 28 percent backed the lawsuit and 12 percent were undecided.

Washington Readies 'Biggest Tax Hikes in History'

The so-called "death tax" returns with a vengeance next year, bringing a 55 percent top tax rate on estates valued at more than $1 million.That compares to the current rate of 0 percent on estates up to $3.5 million.

Marco Rubio Breaks Record: More than $4.5 Million in Second Quarter


Republican U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio reeled in more than $4.5 million for the second quarter of 2010 -- the largest amount a candidate in Florida ever brought in for a single quarter, breaking a record that had been held by Rubios chief rival in the race, Gov. Charlie Crist, who left the GOP and is now running as an independent.

RPOF Piles on Charlie Crist for Calling Special Session


The Republican Party of Florida took a shot atits former standard bearer Gov. Charlie Crist --who left the GOP to continue his campaign for the U.S. Senate seat to run without party affiliation. The RPOF sent out a release linking to the Web video released on Monday by former House Speaker Marco Rubio, the likely Republican candidate in the race, trashing Crist for calling a special session of the Legislature for political purposes.
