In the run-up to this weekend's G-8 summit at Camp David, journalists have unfavorably compared European "austerity" with Barack Obama's economic policies.
SpaceX and NASA will try again Tuesday to get the Dragon space capsule into orbit and a potential hookup with the International Space Station.
For those on the East Coast, the "demonstration" launch is scheduled for 3:44 a.m.
Saturday's launch attempt was "aborted when the flight computer detected slightly high pressure in the engine 5 combustion chamber. We have discovered root cause and repairs are underway," SpaceX posted on its website after scrubbing the early Saturday morning launch.

There is no task force looking at Florida's minimum mandatory sentences and in all probability, none is coming. What a travesty.
Incoming Senate Democratic Leader Chris Smith ratcheted up criticism of Florida's Stand Your Ground law Friday, pointing to a loophole that could endanger some women, rather than protect them.

Smith said the law which allows people to shoot back when threatened without a duty to retreat could actually end up making domestic violence victims more vulnerable.
Gov. Rick Scott has spent the past several months talking about two big issues: adding jobs and bolstering the public-education system.

Gov. Rick Scott formally revoked the suspension of Osceola County Clerk of the Court Malcom Thompson on Friday afternoon.
The lifting of the suspension was anticipated as Kim Hennecy, the chief deputy clerk who had been acting as Thompsons replacement, sent an email Thursday to employees notifying them of Thompsons pending return.
Thompson had been suspended after being charged with battery and assault of an office employee. He was acquitted of the charges last month.

Gov. Rick Scott named Daliah Weiss, of Wellington, to the Palm Beach County Court.
During Daliahs 17 years as a prosecutor, she has gained extensive trial experience in some of the most difficult cases, Scott stated in a release. Daliah has also demonstrated leadership skills as the chief of multiple units, and I am confident she will be a great addition to the bench in Palm Beach County.
Weiss, 41, has been an assistant state attorney with the state attorneys office in Palm Beach since 1996.

A recent report by The Bond Buyer indicated that officials at the Port of Los Angeles are concerned that ports along the East and Gulf coasts will become bigger competitors for cargo as the Panama Canal expansion nears completion.
The May 18 report by the daily finance newspaper, titled Panama Expansion May Help Competing Ports Topple L.A. From its No. 1 Position, quickly found its way via email into Gov. Rick Scotts office.
Rep. Vern Buchanan lives in a world where you're guilty until proven innocent. And with the help of a muckraking press, Democrats are hoping they can finally knock out the three-term congressman with a campaign that remains long on smoke and short on fire.
Buchanan, R-Sarasota, has had a giant target on his back since 2006, when he narrowly beat Christine Jennings in an election that was as closely and hotly contested as Bush vs. Gore six years earlier.
Two veteran members of Congress reached out across party lines to pass an amendment to help commercial and Navy ships navigate the St. Johns River.
