Rick Scott Lifts Suspension of Osceola County Clerk

Gov. Rick Scott formally revoked the suspension of Osceola County Clerk of the Court Malcom Thompson on Friday afternoon.

The lifting of the suspension was anticipated as Kim Hennecy, the chief deputy clerk who had been acting as Thompsons replacement, sent an email Thursday to employees notifying them of Thompsons pending return.

Thompson had been suspended after being charged with battery and assault of an office employee. He was acquitted of the charges last month.
