Next Window at Cape Canaveral for SpaceX is Early Tuesday

SpaceX and NASA will try again Tuesday to get the Dragon space capsule into orbit and a potential hookup with the International Space Station.

For those on the East Coast, the "demonstration" launch is scheduled for 3:44 a.m.

Saturday's launch attempt was "aborted when the flight computer detected slightly high pressure in the engine 5 combustion chamber. We have discovered root cause and repairs are underway," SpaceX posted on its website after scrubbing the early Saturday morning launch.

"During rigorous inspections of the engine, SpaceX engineers discovered a faulty check valve on the Merlin engine. We are now in the process of replacing the failed valve. Those repairs should be complete tonight. We will continue to review data on Sunday."

The Falcon 9 rocket has an "instantaneous launch window" in order to link with the space station, meaning they must launch at the pre-set time or wait until the next window -- Wednesday at 3:22 a.m.

SpaceX is seeking to become the first to show that a private venture can handle the supply task and other tasks for the space station, the results of which would be a $1.6 billion contract to provide at least 12 flights for NASA.
