Craig Miller's Team: Bad Economy Leads Voters to Support Business Leaders for Political Office

While Rick Scott and Jeff Greene may be getting the most headlines, there are a number of business leaders running for Congress in Florida this election cycle, shades of the 1990s when Ross Perot, Steve Forbes and Morry Taylor ran for president.

Craig Miller, former president CEO of the Ruths Chris Steak House chain, is running for the Republican nomination against U.S. Rep. Suzanne Kosmas and his campaign manager says that the high number of business leaders running for office reveals voter discontent about the economy and about the current crop of office holders.

NY/NJ Beats out Tampa and Miami for Super Bowl

Well, you knew this was coming. The news just broke that Super Bowl XLVIII, coming up in 2014, will be held outside of New York at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

While Miami and Tampa Bay made runs at hosting the big game, the NFL decided to send the event to the Big Apple. Estimates of the Super Bowls economic impact range up to $550 million.

Lets just hope the Dolphins, Bucs and Jags do better than the Giants and Jets next year! Avenge the Sunshine State's honor, oh, brave Jaguars in the teal and black, when you head up to play the Giants Nov. 28.

Dr. Beach has bad news for the Panhandle beach boosters.

True Stories: Talking Heads Singer Sues Charlie Crist

Its a wild, wild life for rock stars but, when it comes to politicians using their songs without permission, this must be the place. Rockers are burning down the house to stop politicians from using their tunes. Ah, life in wartime.

This phenomenon does not happen once in a lifetime. In fact, it has happened twice in the same race.

NY Times Magazine: Are Teachers' Unions the Enemy of Reform?

In the May 23, 2010 edition of the New York Times Magazine, The Grey Lady questioned what it calls the base of the Democrat base -- teachers' unions -- and their effect on education reform.

In one of the story's images, you see the words, "Are Teachers' Unions the Enemy of Reform? Discuss" scrawled across a white board in the front of a classroom.

The 12-page article begins with a story about Michael Mulgrew, a Brooklyn vocational high school teacher who also serves as the head of New York City's United Federation of Teachers.
