Sarah Palin is as Unpopular as Barack Obama in Alaska
A poll released Tuesday threw some cold water on former Gov. Sarah Palins hopes for a political comeback in Alaska. A poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP), a firm with connections to prominent Democrats, found Palin was upside down in Alaska with 58 percent holding an unfavorable view of her and only 39 percent seeing her as favorable.

Allen West Keeps Ties Intact to National Conservatives
Former Congressman Allen West is trying to keep his ties to the conservative movement intact despite being turned out by the voters last year. West has opened the door to a political comeback in 2016.
Earlier this week, West spoke at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver. On Tuesday, he headed to Europe to take part in National Reviews annual summer cruise. West offered his thoughts on how his role showed how conservatives supported civil rights.

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen Showcases GOP Bills to Rein in Fed Government
This week in Washington, Republicans in control of the U.S. House will be pushing 10 bills in an attempt to rein in the federal government, including a bill preventing the IRS from enacting President Barack Obamas health care law, preventing the IRS from targeting groups due to their politics, improving federal customer service, and making the government more transparent.
U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., said she supported these bills.

With some conservatives souring on Rubio due to his prominent role in pushing immigration reform, Rubio is looking to get his credentials back in order since he is considered one of the top Republican presidential hopefuls in 2016.

Barack Obama Praises Senate Immigration Reform Bill in Jacksonville
Speaking in Jacksonville on Thursday, President Barack Obama had warm words for the immigration reform bill that passed the Senate last month.
Calling it a strong immigration bill, Obama insisted the Gang of Eights bill will help the economy, but played down its chances in the Republican-controlled House. Obama said House Republicans would not give it a vote.
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., was one of the leading champions of the bill drawing the fire from some conservatives. Rubio is expected to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

Alvin Brown Attends Obama Speech in Jacksonville
With President Barack Obama speaking in Jacksonville on Thursday, some eyes were on Mayor Alvin Brown. In 2011, Brown became the first Democrat to win a Jacksonville mayoral election since Ed Austin was elected back in 1991.
