Herman Cain's memory appears to be getting clearer. Hours after saying he had no knowledge of any settlement of sexual harassment allegations at the National Restaurant Association he headed in the 1990s, the GOP presidential candidate provided details of one case to Fox News' Greta Van Sustern. "My general counsel [at the NRA] said this started out where [the complainant] and her lawyer were demanding a huge financial settlement I don't remember a number," Cain said on Monday's program.

State Attorney Pam Bondi has filed an appeal to the 1st District Court of Appeal, late Monday afternoon, seeking to reverse a lower court ruling that halted plans to privatize 29 correctional facilities across South Florida. Her office said the appeal was on behalf of the legislators. Leon County Circuit Judge Jackie Fulford sided with Florida Police Benevolent Association attorneys who argued that lawmakers should have put the potential privatization of 29 prisons in South Florida into a separate bill, rather than as a proviso to the budget.

Media outlets, including Politico, widely misreported the hymn that Herman Cain sang at the end of his appearance at the National Press Club Monday. Reporters -- few of whom have set foot in a church in years, if ever -- reported that Cain was singing "Amazing Grace." But they called the wrong tune. It was, in fact, "He Looked Beyond My Fault," whose melody, which Cain carried beautifully, sounds nothing like "Amazing Grace."

Before concluding his appearance at the National Press Club today, GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain sang an African-American Christian hymn and brushed aside the notion that the political attacks on him are race-based. Ditto for Obama, he said. "The opposition to this president has nothing to do with race. It's bad policy that people have problems with." Cain then invited the audience to follow his campaign bus and witness a broad outpouring of support. "This many white people can't pretend that they like me," he said to laughter.

GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain acknowledged Monday that he had been accused of sexual harassment while head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s. But Cain said he was "falsely accused" and branded the allegations reported in a Politico story over the weekend "totally baseless and totally false." Politico, citing unnamed sources, said a cash settlement was made to two women, who had reportedly signed an agreement to stay quiet about the matter.
