The Florida TEA Party, disbanded by former Chairwoman Peg Dunmire earlier this month, has been resuscitated and renamed the TEA Party of Florida, announced new chairman John Long.

Gov. Rick Scott is at Captain Andersons Restaurant & Waterfront Market in Panama City today for his fourth Lets Get to Work day. Scott is working at the landmark waterfront restaurant from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., CDT.

Apparently Florida Democratic Chairman Rod Smith agrees, since he brought on more than his share of Disney references on Saturday.

The Florida Democratic Convention at Walt Disney World has featured a host of candidates running for Congress. Former U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, who lost to U.S. Rep. Dan Webster in 2010, was there with his supporters. So was former Orlando Police Chief Val Demings with her team.

On Saturday, at the Florida Democratic Party Convention in Walt Disney World, Democrat Bill Nelson, the senior U.S. senator from the Sunshine State, said he agreed with remarks Vice President Joe Biden made about the state of the Republican Party. In a speech to the convention on Friday night, Biden said the GOP had transformed, noting that the pack of Republican presidential hopefuls and the likes of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., did not congratulate President Barack Obama after the fall of the Gadhafi regime in Libya and the death of that strongman.

Before being elected to Congress in 2010, South Florida U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson was a veteran of Tallahassee, serving for more than a decade in both chambers of the Florida Legislature. Speaking to the Florida Democratic Convention, Wilson -- wearing one of her many colorful hats -- tried to carry water for President Barack Obama before accusing Republicans of trying to suppress the vote.

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, took aim at Gov. Rick Scott in a speech at the Florida Democratic Convention at Walt Disney World on Saturday. Wasserman Schultz attacked Scott, pointing to his low poll numbers. She called for Democrats to pink slip Rick in 2014.

Former Gov. Mitt Romney picked up the endorsement of a leading Florida Republican for his presidential bid on Friday when U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller, who represents the Panhandle in Congress, announced that he is backing Romney's efforts. I am proud to have Congressman Millers support, Romney said in a statement. He is a committed public servant both to the state of Florida and our countrys veterans and I will work with leaders like him to revitalize the state.

As he readies to enter the race to take on Democrat incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Connie Mack called Nelson out on Friday in an open letter. Yesterday in an interview you said you have a lot of work to do," wrote Mack. You couldnt be more right. You do indeed have a lot of work to do to explain to the people of Florida why you have turned your back on them time after time and instead stood in lockstep support with President Obamas failed liberal schemes.

Gov. Rick Scott posted a video for his weekly radio address. The videohighlights the recently completed trade mission he headed to Sao Paulo, Brazil, with nearly 200 Florida individuals representing an array of businesses and organizations.

Vice President Joe Biden is set to speak at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) event tonight in Orlando. It will be interesting if Biden brings up a recent contentious exchange with a reporter over comments he made considering the potential impact if the jobs legislation fails. Supposedly, some of Biden's staffers are still reeling from an interview where Human Events reporter Jason Mattera was able to catch the vice president offguard in a Senate hallway.

U.S. Rep. Alcee Hasting, D-Miramar, is one of 10 Democrats taking up the Food Stamp Challenge, which requires spending a week eating only what can be purchased with an average week's Food Stamp allotment. The challenge was organized by the religious group Fighting Poverty With Faith because Congress is considering cutting the budget for the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, formerly known as Food Stamps, according to a release from the group. The program kicked off Thursday.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has joined a national effort urging young drivers not to text while driving. One of the saddest aspects of deaths associated with texting while driving is that in many cases the deaths were preventable, Bondi stated in release. The Stop Texts, Stop Wrecks campaign educates parents and teens on the dangers of texting while driving, which will save lives.

A group of Republicans along the I-4 corridor -- where a congressional district has been discussed that would be weighted heavily with Hispanics -- want an apology from Sen. Alan Hays, R-Umatilla, for comments regarding Hispanics that Hays made during a redistricting hearing last week.

Bill Nelson visited a Tallahassee middle school Thursday, joininga delegation of local state and county elected officials lending their support to a private cable giants effort to expand Internet access to low-income children. Comcastheld a media event at Griffin Middle School to announce its Internet Essentials programto parts of Florida within the footprint of the Philadelphia-based cable provider. The program, kicked off last year in Delaware, discounts Internet access and training to familiesthat havechildren in the federal free-lunch program.
