NASA to Partner with Boeing to Build Space Taxis on the Cape

NASA will announce plans on Monday to partnerwith the Boeing Co. to build space taxis in the vacated space-shuttle processing hangar.

While not releasing details of the deal, a release posted by NASA simply states that this is a "new partnership between NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida and an outside organization that will open NASA's facilities to U.S. commercial space launch service providers, create jobs and help American companies regain leadership in the global space economy."

NASA TV will carry livethe 10 a.m. announcement that will take place at NASA Kennedy's Orbiter Processing Facility-3.

MSNBC, crediting Boeing sources, notes that "Kennedy Space Center is drafting a master plan for a revamped spaceport that, in addition to supporting future NASA spacecraft, will host commercial, military and international customers."
