Occupy Soggy Bottom ... uh ... That's Occupy West Palm Beach
If ever there was a drowned rat of an event, it's Occupy West Palm Beach.
One of the groups that aligned itself with the national movement Occupy Wall Street -- and promising to shed light on Wall Street misdeeds and income inequality -- for the last three days Occupy West Palm Beach has been rained out or rained in. No one observing is quite sure which.
Trouble is, OWPB wasn't able to draw a participant base of more than 15 even in good weather. But now that it's soaking wet and miserable, it's tough to "feel the power," as the movement likes to say.
Nevertheless, let's give it up for these stalwart folks. Even in abysmal weather, they picked up a new tent. Over the weekend it was seven tents, now it's eight. And they're faring the flooding, too.
Visible in this Monday morning photograph is the little lake at the bottom of the park that has formed and is starting to encroach. Said one observer, I bet if you did a thermal scan of that area, not a thing would show up.
