Pharmaceutical, Virtual School, Welfare Board, Defense Committee Appointments

Gov. Rick Scott made appointments last week that went to the board of trustees of the Florida Virtual School, Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee, and Florida's Defense Support Task Force.

Brian S. Cunningham and Linda J. Pellegrini were appointed to the board of trustees, Florida Virtual School.

According to the release from the governor's office:

Cunningham, 49, of Fort Lauderdale, is the president of J Strategies. He succeeds Dr. Robert Williams and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28 and ending Sept. 10, 2015.

Pellegrini, 62, of Windermere, is the president of Pellegrini Homes Inc. She succeeds Kay Young and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 25 and ending Sept. 10, 2015.

Scott made one reappointment and three appointments to the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County.

Dr. James D. Sewell, 61, of St. Petersburg, is a self-employed management consultant. He is reappointed for a term beginning Oct. 27, 2011, and ending Aug. 11, 2014.

Brian J. Aungst Jr., 27, of Largo, is an attorney with Macfarlane, Ferguson and McMullen. He succeeds Martha R. Lenderman and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 27, 2011, and ending Aug. 7, 2014.

Raymond H. Neri, 74, of St. Petersburg, is a retired real estate broker and businessman. He succeeds John A. Milford and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 27, 2011, and ending Aug. 7, 2012.

Angela H. Rouson, 44, of St. Petersburg, is the marketing coordinator for Bayfront Health Systems. She succeeds Joseph A. Smith and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 27, 2011, and ending Aug. 11, 2014.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Four were appointed Florida's Defense Support Task Force.

Rear Admiral Kevin Delaney (retired), 65, of Jacksonville, is the president and chief executive officer of Delaney & Associates. He is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28 and ending July 1, 2015.

Major General Emmett Buddy Titshaw, 63, of St. Augustine, is the adjutant general of the state of Florida. He is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28 and ending July 1, 2015.

Barbara A. Stewart, 65, of Avon Park, is a county commissioner for Highlands County. She is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28 and ending July 1, 2015.

Retired Major General Joseph J. Taluto, 63, of Palm Beach Gardens, is a former adjutant general of the state of New York. He is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, and ending July 1, 2015.

Ten were announced for the Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.

Dr. John T. Bailey, 52, of Tallahassee, is a private practicing psychiatrist and the attending psychiatrist at Sunland Center. He succeeds Dr. Richard R. Thacker and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Dr. Richard B. Rick Foley, 38, of Sorrento, is a pharmacist at Omnicare Central Florida and at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. He succeeds Benny K. Whittington and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Dr. Mark L. Hudak, 57, of Jacksonville, is a professor of pediatrics at University of Florida Health Science Center, Jacksonville. He succeeds Dr. George Schroeder and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Dr. Daniel Kantor, 33, of Ponte Vedra Beach, is a medical director at Neurologique Foundation Inc. He succeeds Dr. Jose D. Jimenez and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Seyed M. Dante Kazerounian, 46, of St. Petersburg, is a clinical systems pharmacist at All Childrens Hospital. He succeeds Scott A. Mazza and is appointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Jennifer Lalani, 50, of Windemere, is a district pharmacy supervisor for CVS Pharmacy. She is reappointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Natasha E. Robinson, 35, of Miramar, is a clinical hospital pharmacist at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She is reappointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Dr. Francis T. Schwerin Jr., 55, of Naples, is the president of Cardio-Imaging of Naples. He is reappointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Philip G. Stalas, 54, of Clearwater, is the director of pharmacy operations for WellCare. He is reappointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.

Dr. Timothy L. Sternberg, 58, of Jacksonville, is a physician at Heekin Orthopedic Specialists. He is reappointed for a term beginning Oct. 28, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013.
