Now Herman Cain Recalls Details of Sexual Harassment Payout
Herman Cain's memory appears to be getting clearer.
Hours after saying he had no knowledge of any settlement of sexual harassment allegations at the National Restaurant Association he headed in the 1990s, the GOP presidential candidate provided details of one case to Fox News' Greta Van Sustern.
"My general counsel [at the NRA] said this started out where [the complainant] and her lawyer were demanding a huge financial settlement I don't remember a number," Cain said on Monday's program.
" But then he said because there was no basis for this, we ended up settling for what would have been a termination settlement."
When asked again how much money was involved, Cain said: "Maybe three months' salary. I don't remember. It might have been two months. I do remember my general counsel saying we didn't pay all of the money they demanded."
He said he knew of no "formal" complaint by a second woman cited, but also unnamed, in a Politico story.
Cain, in an appearance at the National Press Club earlier in the day, said he "never sexually harassed anybody."
