Kendrick Meek, the Democratic nominee in the U.S. Senate race, the campaign team of Republican candidate Marco Rubio --the front-runner in the race --also looked to tie Meek to the increasingly unpopular president.

New Poll: Rick Scott Hits 50 percent, Leads Alex Sink by 3

A poll released Monday from Rasmussen Reports shows the gubernatorial race remains close. The poll has Republican nominee Rick Scott at 50 percent and state CFO Alex Sink, the Democratic candidate, at 47 percent.

This is the first poll that has the Republican reaching the 50 percent mark.A poll released last week showed Scott leading by 5 points.
