An Alachua County woman, Zonia Cooper, was arrested after an investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the state attorneys office, alleging she exploited 11 disabled adults.
The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is dedicated to protecting elderly and disabled adults in health-care facilities throughout Florida, and we will not allow these individuals to be exploited or abused, Attorney General Pam Bondi stated in a release.

East Coast residents may get a chance to see an Atlas 5 rocket, with a classified National Reconnaissance Office payload, launched from Cape Canaveral.
The 19-story rocket is set to go up between 8:26 a.m. and 9:25 a.m. from the Complex 41 pad.
While the launch is set to head east over the Atlantic, details about the ascent and its duration were not released.
Space Coast watchers should expect to get updates only for the first stage of the flight, up to the jettison of the nose cone, which should occur about five minutes after liftoff.

Gov. Rick Scott has ordered state and national flags to be at half-staff at the Volusia County Courthouse, Deland City Hall and at the Capitol in Tallahassee on Saturday, June 16, for Private Second Class Cory D. Eiland.
Eiland, assigned to Charlie Company, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y., died of injuries from a single-car crash on June 6 in Hammond, N.Y.

Elizabeth L. Webster, the regional vice president of health services for Arcadian Health Plan, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Governors of the State University System.
Webster, 39, of Weston, has been with Arcadian Health Plan since 2008.
Previously, she was director of case management and admissions for Cornerstone Hospital from 2006 to 2008 and executive director of case management for Kindred Hospital from 2002 to 2005.
