Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater says Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's manner of speaking to individual entrepreneurs is the right approach for Florida.
I think last nights kickoff was extraordinarily strong, so I think were off to a good start, Atwater said while on FOX Business News early Wednesday.
Atwater, a surrogate for the Romney campaign, defended the messages delivered by Ann Romney and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday night.

Rick Scott in Key West to Say Florida Open after Isaac
Gov. Rick Scott is in Key West to promote Florida tourism in the wake of Hurricane Isaac.
Scott is scheduled to visit several locations and hold a press conference at the Ernest Hemingway House on Whitehead Street to let the world know Florida beaches are open for business, according to a release from the Governor's Office.

Rick Scott Activates Disaster Fund for Tropical Storms
Gov. Rick Scott has activated the states disaster fund to provide assistance for those impacted by tropical storms Debby and now Isaac.
In a release from the governors office, the fund, Neighbors to the Rescue -- managed by the nonprofit, Floridas Foundation -- will help direct long-term recovery to organizations within the affected communities.

RPOF Brings in Its Own Buses for Florida's Delegates
The Republican Party of Florida is going to provide its own buses to the Republican National Convention starting Wednesday afternoon to avoid delays that kept some delegate from returning to their Palm Harbor resort until nearly 3 a.m.
Some delegates had considered driving into the downtown from Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, where the state's delegates are located as a punishment for Florida holding an early presidential preference primary, because of the bus Situation.

Bus Service Continues to Delay Florida Delegates
More bus troubles has resulted in some groggy Florida delegates at the Fresh From Florida breakfast at Innisbrook Resort and Gulf Club.
After the buses didnt immediately arrive to pick up the delegates to take them to the Republican National Convention, Tuesday afternoon, another mix up resulted in some delegates not getting back to the resort in Palm Harbor until 3 a.m.
Im just glad Im in charge of the breakfast, not the bus service, said Agriculture Commission Adam Putnam. Someone is really trying to punish us.
