Rick Scott Activates Disaster Fund for Tropical Storms
Gov. Rick Scott has activated the states disaster fund to provide assistance for those impacted by tropical storms Debby and now Isaac.
In a release from the governors office, the fund, Neighbors to the Rescue -- managed by the nonprofit, Floridas Foundation -- will help direct long-term recovery to organizations within the affected communities.
This morning, while Hurricane Isaac was beating down on western portions of the Panhandle, I got to see, first-hand, the flooding damage the storm left behind in Palm Beach County. We also have Floridians who are still recovering from Tropical Storm Debby, Scott stated in a release on Wednesday.
Your assistance will give much-needed help to our friends and neighbors in Florida who have sustained damages from these storms.
