Mitt Romney to Attend Ann Romney’s Convention Speech on Tuesday

Mitt Romney is expected to be in Tampa on Tuesday, attending the Republican National Convention when his wife Ann Romney takes the main stage, according to The Hill.

Mitt Romney, who will be vote by the delegates as the partys official presidential candidate on Tuesday afternoon, is scheduled to give his nomination acceptance speech capping the now shortened convention on Thursday.

Rick Scott: Florida Poised to Assist Other Gulf States

Gov. Rick Scott on Monday said Florida is poised to help its Gulf state neighbors as Tropical Storm Isaac appeared to spare much of the state from significant damage.

But the governor cautioned that the next 36 hours will be critical for residents of the far western Panhandle, who may face up to 18 inches of rain and tropical storm winds between late Monday night and sunrise Wednesday.

As South Florida begins trying to dry out, Floridas Panhandle to the Big Bend --which has been saturated by weeks of near daily rain --continues to be a worry to state emergency officials from Tropical Storm Isaac.

The storm may grow to a Category 2 withmaximum sustained winds between 96 miles per hour and 110 mph, as it reaches Louisiana.

RPOF Teams with Red Cross for Isaac Relief

The Republican Party of Florida is partnering with the American Red Cross to help provide assistance to potential victims of Isaac, both in Florida and in neighboring Gulf states, a release from the governors office stated.

Rick Scott Returning to Tallahassee to Follow Isaac

Gov. Rick Scott will be back in Tallahassee Monday evening for the latest update on Tropical Storm Isaac.

With Isaac now spinning through the Gulf of Mexico, the focus for Florida -- outside of restoring areas already hit -- will be the pending impact to the Panhandle.

According to a release from the governors office, Scott will be at the State Emergency Operations Center for the 6 p.m. briefing.
