Apollo, Six Flags Exploring SeaWorld Buyout?

Reuters reports that sources sayApollo Global Management and Six Flags are both exploring the possibility of purchasingSeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, which is presently owned by the Blackstone Group. Blackstone hasn't decided whether to sell SeaWorld to a private company or put it on the stock market as a public offering.

Wikipedia Moving from Florida to Virginia

The Wikimedia Foundation has announced that Wikipedia and other services are moving their primary operations from their Tampa-based data center to one in Ashburn, Va., though the Tampa location will continue to be used as a backup center.

One of the reasons for the move is said to be the lower risk of hurricanes in Virginia than in the Sunshine State.

AAA: Spring Gas Prices to Peak Around $3.80 a Gallon


Motorists should see gas prices decline slightly through January, yet crank up in the spring as demand grows and refineries switch to summer fuel blends, according to AAA.

While the forecast from AAA has prices hitting around $3.80 a gallon, the spring peak shouldnt exceed the 2012 mark of $3.94 a gallon reached last April.

Scotts to Walk in MLK Parade in Jacksonville


Gov. Rick Scott and first lady Ann Scott are scheduled to walk in the Jacksonville Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade on Monday, according to the governor's office.

The parade is set for 10 a.m.- noon, with a theme of Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere.

Gov. Rick Scott this week broke with many in his own party by saying some recent Republican-backed election changes should be reversed to give voters more time to cast ballots.

Following an election mired by hours-long lines in certain precincts, Scott said local elections supervisors need more flexibility to expand early voting hours and venues in an effort to make every potential vote count.
