The Orlando Sentinel reports that two drones, costing taxpayers $50,000, have been donated to the Orange Countysheriff's department by the Obama administration.
"This is not about intruding,'' Sheriff Jerry Demings said at a demonstration of the drones. "We're not going into any homes.''

Gov. Rick Scott has signed a death warrant for Paul Augustus Howell, a drug trafficker convicted in the 1992 bomb death of Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Jimmy Fulford.
The execution has been set for Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.
Howell, 47, now at Union Correctional Institute, was sentenced to death in 1995.

Senate Committee on Ethics and Elections Chairman Jack Latvala R-Clearwater, has wasted little time in filing a pair of bills that prohibit legislators from voting on bills that benefit them and lobbying any state agency for two years after leaving office, places greater restriction on public officials' use of political committees, and would give the state Commission on Ethics more power to collect fines.
The proposed committee bills, SPB 7006 and SPB 7008, go before the committee on Tuesday afternoon.
