National Public Radio's firing of Juan Williams tells you all you need to know about the radical, and thoroughly intolerant, left. Williams is a liberal, but still, he isn't liberal enough. The idea that he would acknowledge a mere thought of discomfort at the idea of people in "Muslim garb" on airplanes in a post-9/11 world became a firing offense. It didn't matter that he prefaced it with all the perfunctory and politically correct disclaimers about not being a bigot and we shouldn't blame all Muslims for terrorism.

Gov. Rick Scott penned a piece published at National Review on Friday in which he argued that raising college tuition is a tax increase. He also noted he recently used the line-item veto to scratch out tuition raises included in the recently passed state budget.

A new poll shows Hillary Clinton crushing Jeb Bush and Rand Paul in possible 2016 match-ups but does show the two Republicans beating out Joe Biden.
Quinnipiac University released a poll on Friday showing Clinton beating Paul, 49 percent to 41 percent. She holds a similar lead over Bush, besting him 48 percent to 40 percent. Bush defeats Biden, 44 percent to 38 percent, while Paul leads the vice president 43 percent to 39 percent.

The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that former Attorney General Bill McCollum has closed the door to challenging Gov. Rick Scott in the Republican primaries next year. Scott defeated McCollum in a close and bitter contest.
Still, McCollum, who was very active in helping Newt Gingrichs presidential bid in Florida in 2012, wouldn't be surprised if another candidate challenges Scott in the primaries.

Despite doing his undergrad work in Missouri and studying law at Southern Methodist, Gov. Rick Scott attempted to woo the Gator Nation on Thursday. Scott headed to Gainesville to present Steve Spurrier, now the head coach of the University of South Carolina football, with a Great Floridian award. Spurrier led the Gators to a national title as a coach and won the Heisman as a player there.

Gov. Rick Scott is turning his sites to Minnesota, looking to bring jobs to Florida.
On Thursday, Scott sent a letter to Minnesota business leaders arguing that Florida offers a better business climate than their state and encouraging them to move their operations to the Sunshine State. Scotts team also released a chart showing Florida has a better education system than Minnesota.

In an interview with CBS News on Thursday morning, Ann Romney, wife of defeated Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, said she and her husband are behind Ryan if he runs for president in 2016.

On Thursday, Florida TaxWatch released a study that finds Floridas economy can expand with more Foreign Direct Investment. Right now, 239,500 Floridians are employed by FDI companies, making it sixth in the nation.
Foreign Direct Investment provides Florida with an opportunity to grow the states economy, said Dominic Calabro, the president and CEO of Florida TaxWatch, on Thursday.

Three Florida Republicans in Congress -- Tom Rooney, Dennis Ross and Ted Yoho -- teamed up on Wednesday to take part in a town hall meeting on agriculture.
Ross used the forum to showcase the Legal Agricultural Workforce Act, a bill he introduced creating a new time of visa to allow aliens to work in agriculture while enacting strict security standards to protect Americans.
