Just Honored: Jeff Henderson of Sunshine State News Named One of Florida's Best Political Writers

In the "blowing our own horn department": Congratulations to Sunshine State News' Jeff Henderson, named Thursday by "The Fix" in the Washington Post as one of the seven best political writers in Florida.

Winners are selected first by nominations Fix receives via the blog, Twitter and Facebook, then by a panel of judges -- this year Lindsey Cook, Rachel Weiner and Wilson Andrews. The website has a list of the best state-based political reporters in each of the 50 states.

Asked for his reaction, Henderson said, "What an honor to be included in such a prestigious list by 'The Fix' and a news organization like the Washington Post, and I'd like to say it's an honor to write for Sunshine State News."

Besides SSN's Henderson, Florida winners include Gary Fineout, Associated Press; Adam Smith, Tampa Bay Times; Dara Kam, The Palm Beach Post; Marc Caputo, The Miami Herald; Steve Bousquet, Tampa Bay Times; and Mary Ellen Klas, The Miami Herald.
