Dennis Ross Talks Up Immigration at Agriculture Forum
Three Florida Republicans in Congress -- Tom Rooney, Dennis Ross and Ted Yoho -- teamed up on Wednesday to take part in a town hall meeting on agriculture.
Ross used the forum to showcase the Legal Agricultural Workforce Act, a bill he introduced creating a new time of visa to allow aliens to work in agriculture while enacting strict security standards to protect Americans.
Agriculture is a lifeline for Central Floridas families and businesses and serves as a vital food source for all Americans, said Ross. Greening, outdated labor laws, and skyrocketing health care costs threaten the long-term prospects of this industry. We need to work together to protect Floridas agriculture sector and I will continue to put forth solutions, like the Legal Agricultural Workforce Act.
