After 10 Glorious Years, Sunshine State News and I Are Passing the Baton

A new poll finds U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is starting to become increasingly less popular with conservatives as he continues to be front and center on immigration reform. A Rasmussen Reports poll released on Monday finds 58 pecent of Republicans across the nation have a favorable view of Rubio -- down from 68 percent in a Rasmussen poll from May. Rubio is seen as unfavorable by 16 percent of Republicans while 25 percent are undecided. Rubio is expected to seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

Another name was added to the list of possible presidential candidates heading to Iowa to speak at the Family Leadership Summit in August-- businessman and reality star Donald Trump. Over the weekend, Trump announced he would be speaking at the event, setting off buzz that he could run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. Trump opened the door to running in 2012, generating a lot of publicity before he said he had no intention of running.

Former Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico, the Libertarian Partys presidential candidate in 2012, vows to be active in support of same-sex marriage in Florida. Late Friday, Johnson announced his Our America Initative would give full backing and support to Equality Floridas efforts to legalize same-sex marriage in the Sunshine State.

Gov. Rick Scottwill be in Orlando Monday morning to sign a bill that will extend foster care past age 18. Senate Bill 1036, the Independent Living Act, will give the state jurisdiction over foster children in state care until they are 21. The bill aims to give children a better chance to complete high school, vocational training, or college.
