Jets Staffer Sal Alosi Takes Cheap Shot at Dolphins CB Nolan Carroll -- Son of Incoming Lt. Gov.
The sports world is abuzz over the clip of Sal Alosi, a conditioning coach with the New York Jets, tripping up Nolan Carroll of the Miami Dolphins during a special teams play on Sundays game when the Dolphins upset their divisional rival. Carroll is not a bad rookie cornerback but he is probably best known in Tallahassee because of his mother -- incoming Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll. Its being reported that Alosi apologized to Carroll but tripping someone from the sidelines is never the correct thing to do -- and in this case, its clearly not politically correct.

Ron Paul Gets Chairmanship of Subcommittee With Fed Oversight
U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, a noisy critic of the Federal Reserve, will finally get the chance to have oversight of the group that directs the country's monetary policy. It was announced today he will chair the Domestic Monetary Policy Subcommittee when Republicans take over the House next year.
Paul has consistently called for the elimination of the Federal Reserve, and actually wrote a book called "End the Fed."

John Mica Chosen to Lead House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure
No surprise here as he was the ranking member before they won the majority, but U.S. Rep. John Mica was selected by his fellow Republicans in Congress to chair the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure -- giving a Floridian the gavel over the committee overseeing highways, aviations, rail, maritime shipping and the Coast Guard, among other tasks.
We must begin immediately to address the significant needs and challenges facing our nations infrastructure, and create jobs, said Mica.
