Mike Gravel Open to Challenging Obama in 2012 Dem Primaries

At least one prominent politician is open to challenging President Barack Obama in the Democratic primaries.

Former U.S. Sen. Mike Gravel of Alaska said in an interview with the Daily Caller that he was open to taking on Obama in 2012. Gravel, a former speaker of the Alaska House who served two terms in the U.S. Senate before losing renomination in 1980, is best known for his role in releasing the Pentagon Papers and his bids for the Democratic and later the Libertarian presidential nominations in 2008, both ofwhich proved unsuccessful.
