Transportation Builders Association Cheers John Mica Chairing Committee
Bob Burleson of the Florida Transportation Builders Association (FTBA) cheered the news that Florida Republican U.S. Rep. John Mica would chair the congressional Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
Yesterdays confirmation of U.S. Rep. John Mica marks the first time a Florida lawmaker will serve as the chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, said Burleson on Thursday. With Congressman Mica at the helm of the nations transportation policy, the FTBA is certain effective solutions will materialize to move America beyond its current transportation infrastructure reauthorization stalemate, creating thousands of jobs along the way.
On behalf of FTBA and the hundreds of small businesses we represent, we congratulate Congressman Mica on his new leadership role and are looking forward to working with him on the development of a new, long-term transportation authorization bill, added Burleson. There are jobs to be created and transportation needs to be addressed in Florida and across the nation. FTBA is confident the congressman is up to the challenge, and his election to this position is a clear acknowledgment of his enduring commitment to the advancement of a robust transportation system.
