John Mica Chosen to Lead House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure

No surprise here as he was the ranking member before they won the majority, but U.S. Rep. John Mica was selected by his fellow Republicans in Congress to chair the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure -- giving a Floridian the gavel over the committee overseeing highways, aviations, rail, maritime shipping and the Coast Guard, among other tasks.

We must begin immediately to address the significant needs and challenges facing our nations infrastructure, and create jobs, said Mica.

Today, our government, elected leaders, and Americans everywhere have no choice but to do more with less, added Mica. This will also be the Transportation and Infrastructure Committees mandate.
