Another day, another endorsement for U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, the Republican candidate to be Floridas next commissioner of agriculture and consumer services. Just as they have for the past two days, the Putnam campaign trumpeted a new endorsement on Wednesday morning -- this time from the Latin Builders Association which has more than 750 members in the Sunshine State.

Giving a chalkboard lesson on smaller government and bigger employment opportunities in the private sector, the outgoing state Senate president keeps it positive. A refreshing break from the nasty ads clogging the airwaves these days.

Republican congressional candidate Karen Harrington --who is challenging incumbent U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a rising star for the Democrats -- took aim at her opponent on Social Security. Responding to comments from the congresswoman that Social Security funds should not be open to investment in the stock market, Harrington blasted Wasserman Schultz.

Suggesting that Sarah Palin is "running from" GOP congressional candidate Allen West, the Ron Klein campaign says it's significant that the former Alaska governor didn't bother calling West during her swing through Palm Beach today. Palin, scheduled to headline a fund-raiser at the Breakers, wasn't available for comment, but West spokesman Josh Grodin downplayed the situation. "To say that (Palin) is our top endorsement is a bit of a stretch," he said. "We're most proud of our veterans' endorsements."

A Cato Institute report issued last week gave Gov. Charlie Crist a 'D' grade for his policies regarding taxing and spending.

Election Day is 27 days away and polls show the gubernatorial race between Rick Scott and Alex Sink to be a tight one. A new TCPalm.com/Zogby poll shows a statistical dead heat with Scott at38.5 percent compared to Sink's 41.1 percent. The difference falls within the margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. For it to be a 2-point race and 15 percent undecided, it just makes it too close, said John Zogby, chairman of Zogby International. This poll was taken from 802 likely voters.

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday night in Orlando, the three leading candidates in the U.S. Senate election will meet for a debate. The debate hosted by George Stephanopoulos of ABC News between former House Speaker Marco Rubio, Gov. Charlie Crist and U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek is scheduled for an hour and will be shown by WFTV in Orlando and WFTS in Tampa. It can also be seen at www.abcnews.com. There's a reason you're not hearing a lot of Democrats campaigning on health care reform. Not only is it unpopular with Republicans, but a new poll by The Hill/ANGA shows a significant chunk of Democrats want it repealed, as well. The poll found a majority of voters in key battleground districts want a repeal of the law, including more than one in four Democrats in one particular district, and nearly 50 percent of Democrats want it gone in another. The team behind independent gubernatorial candidate Farid Khavari is on the attack -- andfocusing on Democratic nominee state CFO Alex Sink. Khavari, an economist, has made establishing a state bank one of the centerpieces of his campaign, winning him the endorsement of Brian Moore, who pulled 23 percent of the vote against Sink in the Democratic primary back in August.

An energy conference turned up the heat for a special legislative session to address renewable-energy policy. Speaking at the Orlando meeting, incoming Senate President Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, told the gathering he is committed to passing policies that will promote renewable energy -- perhaps as early as November.

The campaign team of Rick Scott, the Republican gubernatorial candidate, unveiled a new ad late on Tuesday attacking state CFO Alex Sink, the Democratic nominee, on a number of issues -- including using a state plane for personal use.

CNN is running an interview with Bob Woodward where he speculates that there is a strong chance that President Barack Obama will ask Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to serve as vice president in 2012. Woodward believes Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden could switch positions.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's event planned for Wednesday in Miami has been canceled, but she's still headed for the Sunshine State.

The Associated Press reports that a whistleblower in a potential multimillion-dollar health-care fraud settlement has filed a petition with the Florida Supreme Court to remove Attorney General Bill McCollum from the settlement talks.
