The Republican Party of Florida lauded Gov. Rick Scott's handling of health care navigators, explaining that over a month ago the governor raised concerns about health care navigators' access to Americans' private records. Scott has been vocal about privacy concerns associated with the new health care law.Scott said he worried they would become privy to private information as they helped Floridians sign up for coverage.

A new national poll finds Americans have mixed thoughts on teachers' unions. Rasmussen Reports released a poll on Tuesday which finds 40 percent of Americans see teachers' unions as favorable but 45 percent see them as unfavorable. The poll also finds that opponents of teachers' unions have more deeply held views. Almost a quarter of those surveyed -- 24 percent -- see teachers' unions as very unfavorable while only 13 percent see them as very favorable. The survey of 1,000 American adults was taken from Sept. 11-12 and had a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.

A new Rasmussen Reports poll released Wednesday showed Americans aren't too confident that the Federal Reserve Board can keep the inflation rate down. The survey comes as conversations over who will be the next chairman of the Federal Reserve Board are heating up.

Former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, well-known across the nation for his three presidential bids, is tackling education in his new book The School Revolution: A New Answer for Our Broken Education System. The book was published on Tuesday. Late on Tuesday, Paul sent out an email to supporters taking aim at public schools, which can't seem to teach reading, writing, or arithmetic, but have plenty of time for fake history, Keynesian economics, war lies, and state worship.

Former Rep. Mike Fasano was quick to congratulate Amanda Murphy and Bill Gunter on their victories in the primary special election to replace him in the Florida House of Representatives, but he also asked that the two winners leave his name out of their future mailers and TV commercials. Fasano, who took over as tax collector of Pasco County, took to his Facebook page Wednesday evening to post the following message:

Bill Gunter, the pastor of Redeemer Community Church in New Port Richey, won the Republican primary on Tuesday in the special election to replace former Rep. Mike Fasano in the Florida House to represent parts of Pasco County. Gunter defeated Jim Mathieu, who served as Port Richey city attorney and interim city manager and chaired the Pasco County GOP, and insurance agent Jeromy Keith Harding in the primary.

On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., announced he was endorsing U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., to challenge U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., in 2014. This is Rubios first Senate endorsement of the 2014 election cycle. Rubio is expected to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. In an email to supporters on Tuesday, Rubio pointed to Cottons service in the military as a reason he was backing him.
