RPOF: Rick Scott Winning Battles with Obama over Health Care Security

The Republican Party of Florida lauded Gov. Rick Scott's handling of health care navigators, explaining that over a month ago the governor raised concerns about health care navigators' access to Americans' private records. Scott has been vocal about privacy concerns associated with the new health care law.Scott said he worried they would become privy to private information as they helped Floridians sign up for coverage.

The Obama administration is now pushing health care security measures, planning to reassure Americans about the security of their private information under Obamacare.

"When Rick Scott brings a fight to the federal government on behalf of Floridians, he wins," said RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry. "The Obama administration is now conceding that there may be legitimate concerns regarding so-called health care 'navigators,' after Rick Scott pointed out over a month ago the wide access they would have to Americans' private records with little training or vetting. I'm proud to stand with a governor who will stand up for Floridians' privacy and Florida's economy."
