The Congressional Leadership Fund, a super-PAC looking to ensure Republicans keep the U.S. House, went after U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., for opposing creating a House committee to investigate the Obama administrations handling of the Benghazi attacks in September 2012 in which four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed. Garcia is a top target for Republicans in November with major candidates, including Miami Dade School Board member Carlos Curbelo and former U.S. Rep. David Rivera, R-Fla., running for the GOP nomination.

Congressional candidate and avid role-player Jake Rush made an appearance on the "Colbert Report" Thursday evening, speaking to the comedian about Florida's 3rd Congressional District, his political aspirations, and his role-playing habit. Rush gained notoriety across the state and nationwide when reports surfaced that he was an avid, live-action role-player. Rush, however, doesn't seem to think it's too big of a deal.

Former state CFO Alex Sink threw her support behind retired Marines Col. Ed Jany who is running against U.S. Rep. David Jolly, R-Fla., with no party affiliation. Jolly defeated Sink in a special election last March by less than 2 percent. Despite coming close in March, Democrats are not running a candidate. Jany joined the Democrats in the fall, too late to make the ballot with his new party.

U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Fla., said on Thursday he backed efforts to create a House committee investigating the Benghazi attacks. No matter how you look at it justice has not been served for the four Americans killed in Benghazi on the night of Sept. 11, 2012, Crenshaw said. The White House can claim all it wants that the questions of this tragic night have been answered. But, that is not so, and this tragic case has long deserved the investigation of a Select Committee.

Gov. Rick Scotts team continues to fire away at former Gov. Charlie Crist, the favorite for the Democratic nomination to challenge the governor in November despite spending most of his political life as a Republican. The Scott team hit Crist on Thursday for raising taxes by $2.2 billion back in 2009, including raising unemployment insurance by $1,500 per worker.

On Thursday, the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF) announced it was joining the national Coalition for College Cost Savings (CCCS) as it looks to reduce costs for its members. CCCS, which represents almost 800 private colleges across the nation with almost 2 million students, is active in 29 states.

On Wednesday, the Campaign for Liberty, chaired by former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, announced that a majority of members of the U.S. House -- 218 -- are co-sponsoring the Audit the Fed bill for the third consecutive Congress. Paul had been a longtime advocate of auding the Federal Reserve during his time in Congress and his three bids for the presidency. U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., is the chief sponsor of the bill since Paul left Congress in 2012.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., appeared on Your World with Neil Cavuto on FOX News on Wednesday night to weigh in on former Gov. Charlie Crists comments that he left the GOP due to Republicans opposing President Barack Obama due to his race. Despite starting as a major underdog, Rubio caught Crist in the Republican U.S. Senate primary in 2010, forcing the then-governor to leave the GOP and run with no party affiliation. At the end of 2012, Crist made another party switch and joined the Democrats. Crist is now the favorite for his new partys nomination to challenge Gov.
