Joe Garcia Draws Fire on Benghazi from Republican Super-PAC
The Congressional Leadership Fund, a super-PAC looking to ensure Republicans keep the U.S. House, went after U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., for opposing creating a House committee to investigate the Obama administrations handling of the Benghazi attacks in September 2012 in which four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed. Garcia is a top target for Republicans in November with major candidates, including Miami Dade School Board member Carlos Curbelo and former U.S. Rep. David Rivera, R-Fla., running for the GOP nomination.
Standing shoulder to shoulder with Washington Democrats, Joe Garcia is joining the Obama administrations stonewalling operation that has left Americans with more questions than answers, insisted Emily Davis, a spokeswoman for the Congressional Leadership Fund, on Friday. Just last week, Americans learned that the White House strategized to blame protests rooted in an Internet video an inaccurate claim that begs questions of politically-motivated deception. Yet Joe Garcia would rather cover for Washington Democrats than allow one bipartisan committee to get to the bottom of the facts.
Joe Garcias hyper-partisan vote against a bipartisan Benghazi investigation committee is more evidence that Nancy Pelosi and President Obama can count on him no matter the cost, David added. Floridians deserve a leader in Congress who will fight for accountability in government instead of just enabling more stonewalling.
