Ileana Ros-Lehtinen 'Pleased as Punch' With Redistricting Base Map

U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., will be one of the biggest winners in the Florida delegation if the Florida Legislature’s base map on congressional redistricting goes through but she said on Thursday she will be happy with whatever the final map is.

The Senate might be patting itself on the back for extending participation in the International Space Station, but NASA Administrator Charles Bolden wants Congress to know his agency is being forced to rely on Russia for launches instead of returning the flights to this country. And nobody at NASA is happy about it.

It's a contract "modification" worth $490 million to Russia.

Florida's top environmental official was directed Wednesday to rethink a proposal to make state parks more financially self-sustaining, as he and the state's top law-enforcement officer received Cabinet approval for the second time this year.

Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Jon Steverson and Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Rick Swearingen received unanimous support from the Cabinet to remain in their $150,000-a-year jobs.
