Ileana Ros-Lehtinen 'Pleased as Punch' With Redistricting Base Map

U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., will be one of the biggest winners in the Florida delegation if the Florida Legislature’s base map on congressional redistricting goes through but she said on Thursday she will be happy with whatever the final map is. 

With the Legislature getting ready to convene in Tallahassee next week for a special session on redistricting, Ros-Lehtinen offered her take on the base map released on Thursday. Under the map, Ros-Lehtinen’s Miami-Dade district takes in more Republicans. 

"I love every block of my hometown so I'll be pleased as punch with whatever areas the state Legislature ultimately draws in its final maps,” Ros-Lehtinen said. “I enjoy my neighbors in Pinecrest as much as those in Little Havana, Hialeah, Coconut Grove and South Dade. Everywhere I go, I feel at home. As Stephen Stills sang, 'love the one you're with', and I intend to do just that."
