On this first anniversary of the BP oil spill, is anybody wondering how Tony Hayward, the disgraced former head of BP -- Mr. "I Just Want My Life Back" -- is spending the day?
Probably he's somewhere just waiting, according to London-born journalist Martin Bashir, speaking on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program Wednesday morning.

Rep. Thurston Could Make it Onto Redistricting Panel After All
Rep. Perry Thurston, D-Plantation, the next-in-line to be the House Minority Leader, was named early on as the Democratic point man for the redistricting process. But when members for the redistricting House committees were named Tuesday, Thurston's name was not among them.
Thurston, speaking after the House Redistricting Committee's first meeting Wednesday, said that could change.
"I think there's a move afoot to make that correction," Thurston said.

What Disaster? Halliburton Profits Soaring in Wake of Gulf Blowout
While just about everyone associated with BP's Gulf blowout has taken big hits during the past year, Halliburton Co. continues to sail along nicely.
The oil-services company -- which made the failed cement seal widely blamed for allowing explosive gas to enter and ignite the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig -- reported a 60 percent increase in profits for 2010.
On Monday, Halliburton announced that its profits for the first three months of this year more than doubled to $511 million.

Mainstream Media Shrug Off 'Atlas' at Their Peril
Despite little press, few screens and a tiny budget by Hollywood standards, Ayn Rand's magnum opus, "Atlas Shrugged: Part I," placed a respectable 14th in the box office standings on its opening weekend.
The No. 1 movie was the kid-friendly "Rio," which grossed $39 million at 3,826 screens (including 3D) nationally. "Atlas" took in $1.7 million at just 299 screens. Along with a hefty promotional budget, "Rio" cost $90 million to produce. "Atlas," by contrast, carried just a $10 million price tag.

Florida's Fishers, Park-goers Get Break
Saltwater fishers in Florida will not need a license for two weekends in June, and admission to state parks will be half off on Mother's Day and Father's Day, two state agencies announced Tuesday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Department of Environmental Protection, which oversees the parks, made the announcements during a meeting of the Florida Cabinet, being held in Panama City to mark the one-year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
