Former Reagan Aide Seeks Juice Boycott over Early Primary

California businessman and former Reagan aide Fred Karger is calling for a boycott of Florida orange juice because of the early primary.

Karger, who is also running for president as a Republican, is calling for the boycott to last for 30 days -- starting Nov. 1-- or "until Florida officials come to their senses."

Obama in Trouble in Florida, According to Poll

A Suffolk University/7NEWS (WSVN-Miami) poll of registered voters in Florida released late Tuesday found President Barack Obama is in trouble in the Sunshine State.In a speech to the Florida Democratic Convention at Walt Disney World on Friday, Vice President Joe Biden said winning Florida is crucial to the president staying in the White House.

Scott: Enjoyed First Year of Solving the Problems of Government

A year out from the 2010 Election, Gov. Rick Scott says hes enjoyed the process of solving problems in governing.

I really enjoy trying to solve problems, thats what you do in business, Scott told reporters Tuesday. You sort of try to solve problems, that is one of the more enjoyable things about this.

While he has been officially in office since Jan. 4, 2011, Scott added there are two differences with the current job and his former ones in the private business sector.

One is driving. He doesnt drive as governor.

Gadsden County Puts Slot Machines on Primary Ballot

Voters in Gadsden County will get to say if the new horse barrel-racing and poker room facility coming to Gretna will also offer slot machines.

The Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that the Gadsden County Commission on Tuesday voted unanimously to include the referendumwith the Jan. 31, 2012, president preference primary.

State regulators largely signed off Tuesday on how much Floridians will have to pay for electricity next year -- but faced a tricky question about the amount Progress Energy Florida should pass along to consumers.

The state Public Service Commission approved fuel costs and a series of other smaller costs for Florida Power & Light, Tampa Electric Co. and Gulf Power Co.
