Lawmakers will once again be asked to shave workers compensation costs by closing a prescription drug loophole thought to bump up pharmaceutical costs more than 600 percent when the drugs are dispensed from medical offices.
Rep. Matt Hudson, R-Naples, and Sen. Alan Hays, R-Umatilla, have filed legislation that would cap how much medical offices could charge when dispensing medication prescribed by an on-site physician.
State Reps. Janet Cruz, D-Tampa, and Darren Soto, D-Orlando, want Sen. Alan Hays removed from the Senate Committee on Reapportionment.
In a letter to Senate President Mike Haridopolos, Soto described Hays' comments about a Latino legislative district as "anti-Hispanic."
"It seems to indicate that we are somehow unworthy of voting and of having representation," Soto wrote.

U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, who last week joined a crowded Republican primary field to replace Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, has become the 30th congressman to demand the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder over the "Operation Fast and Furious" gun program that allowed weapons purchased in the United States to end up in the hands of violent Mexican drug cartel, the Daily Caller website is reporting.
According to the news site, Mack said late Tuesday that "Eric Holder should resign Fast and Furiously."

Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, is backing Congressman Connie Mack, R-Fort Myers, in the GOPs U.S. Senate contest.
Haridopolos, addressing the media during the APs annual legislative planning session in the Capitol, said he was returning the favor as Mack had backed him when he was in the contest to determine who will challenge U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Orlando, next year.
