Scott Wagers Key Lime Pie on Gators in Gator Bowl

Gov. Rick Scott is once again putting up a key lime pie in support of a Florida team.

Scott has announced, via Twitter, that he has bet Ohio Gov. John Kasich a pie on UF, which is playing The Ohio State University Jan. 2, 2012, in the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl game at EverBank Field in Jacksonville.

Wilson Leads Florida in Missed Congress Votes; Adams Record Spotless

When it comes to missing votes, nobody among Floridas congressional delegation has done it better than Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Miami Gardens.

According to Govtrack.us, Wilson, a freshman lawmaker, has missed 117 of 948possible votes since recording her first vote in January 2011.

Wilson, who missed time due to gall bladder surgery, missed 12 percent of the votes taken since she took office, which places her sixth highest among all members of Congress.

Romney, Gingrich Tied in Florida, Poll Finds

As Florida voters begin to focus on the state's pivotal GOP presidential primary at the end of January, the leading contenders are former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia, according to a poll by TelOpinion Research.

Romney and Gingrich are essentially in a statistical dead heat, with Romney leading with 27 percent of the vote to Gingrich's 26, according to the telephone survey of 780 Republican voters, conducted from Dec. 15-19.

Digital Domain's State and Local Incentives Up to $135.1 Million

Digital Domain Media Group (NYSE: DDMG) has received an extra $11 million in tax credits from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

The latest credit, announced Thursday by the company, brings to $135.1 millionthe sum that the digital production company has received in incentives from the state, Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach.

Advocacy Group to Appeal 'Scam' Energy Rate Increases

An advocacy group will ask the state Supreme Court to reject a regulatory decision that would allow Florida Power & Light and Progress Energy Florida to collect about $282 million from customers next year for nuclear-power projects.

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy has notified the state Public Service Commission that it's taking the unusual step of appealing an order that allows the utilities to collect money for work on future or existing nuclear plants.

Florida Produce on Display in Annual Orlando Parade on Saturday

Florida produce -- from oranges and strawberries to sweet corn and bell peppers -- will be marching and floating down Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando on Saturday.

The annual holiday parade in its 32nd year, formerly known as the Orlando Citrus Parade, has its inaugural run as the Fresh From Florida Parade at 11 a.m.

The Fresh From Florida Parade is a great opportunity for Florida to celebrate our locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam has stated in a release.

Florida Tea Activist Seeks State Chairmen for Donald Trump Presidential Bid

Florida-based tea party activist Everett Wilkinson is recruiting state chairmen for a possible independent presidential bid by Donald Trump.

Wilkinson, founder of the South Florida Tea Party, said in an emailthat Trump had asked him to find a tea party chairmen by next week for a potential third-party run.

Trump, who was not available, has not publicly indicated his latest political plans. He has suggested he would run for president several times, including this year.

Flags at Half-Staff Friday for Apopka Soldier

Flags will be at half-staff Friday at the Capitol, county courthouse of Hillsborough and the city hall of Tampa for Pvt. First Class Jalfred D. Vaquerano.

Vaquerano, 20, a graduate of Forest Lake Academy in Apopka, died Dec. 13 from wounds sustained fighting in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Vaquerano, who was assigned to D Company, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division in Fort Bliss, Texas, died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany.
