Broward Complaint about Allen West's District Could Blow Up on GOP

A letter from the Broward County Republican Party chairman complaining about the redesigned congressional district of Rep. Allen West could trigger legal challenges, a tea party activist says.

"Just when I thought the GOP couldn't get more incompetent, Broward comes along with an effort to save an incumbent? This is Exhibit A in the first lawsuit," said Henry Kelley, chairman of the Fort Walton Beach Tea Party.

Florida Supreme Court Disbars Six, Suspends 10

The Florida Supreme Court has disciplined 17 attorneys, disbarring six, according to a Dec. 29 release from The Florida Bar.

One attorney was publicly reprimanded, three attorneys were placed on probation and two attorneys were ordered to pay restitution.

Despite winning the Iowa Republican straw poll in August, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota is not expected to do well in the Iowa caucus on Tuesday night. Gingrich, Romney, Paul Score 3-Way Tie in Florida GOP Online Poll

Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul scored a virtual three-way tie in an online poll hosted by the Sarasota Republican Party.

The poll of 2,108 Florida Republicans from 62 of the state's 67 counties showed Gingrich and Romney each grabbing 25 percent of the vote. Ron Paul garnered 24 percent.

Rick Santorum was the only other candidate in double digits, with 11 percent.
