Florida Tea Activist Seeks State Chairmen for Donald Trump Presidential Bid

Florida-based tea party activist Everett Wilkinson is recruiting state chairmen for a possible independent presidential bid by Donald Trump.

Wilkinson, founder of the South Florida Tea Party, said in an emailthat Trump had asked him to find a tea party chairmen by next week for a potential third-party run.

Trump, who was not available, has not publicly indicated his latest political plans. He has suggested he would run for president several times, including this year.

Wilkinson, who refers to himself as "a friend of Donald Trump," has had run-ins with several tea groups, at one time suing the Florida TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party for illegally appropriating the name. Wilkinson subsequently dropped the suit.
