Gingrich hammered President Barack Obama on energy last week, insisting that gas prices can get back to $2.50. The former congressional leader returned to energy on Sunday when he unveiled a new video where he speaks on the topic for almost 30 minutes.

With Rick Santorum rising in the polls, Mitt Romney is on the attack. Santorum leads Romney by 10 percent in the national Gallup tracking poll. A University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll released on Monday finds Santorum leading Romney by more than 30 percent in the Lone Star State.

A gallon of gas in Florida jumped 20 cents in the past month and AAA notes no relief is expected soon.
A couple of weeks ago, it looked as if consumers might see some relief at the pump after oil prices traded below $100 a barrel for several consecutive weeks, but that is no longer the case, Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman, stated in a release.

The three leading Republican candidates looking to challenge Democrat U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson addressed GOP women leaders in Tallahassee Sunday -- and fired away at Nelson and President Barack Obama.
The Republicans -- former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux, businessman and retired Army Col. Mike McCalister and U.S. Rep. Connie Mack -- spoke to the Florida Federation of Republican Women in a packed room at Hotel Duval.
Dr. Akshay Desai has been named chairman of the Republican Party of Florida's Finance Committee.

Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Winston J. Bradley to replace Rodney Long on the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners.
Long resigned in December after 11 years on the commission.At the time it was announced he was going to train to become a minister at Showers of Blessing Harvest Center.

Bradley, 71, of Gainesville, has been the pastor of Kingdom Life Ministries since 2005.

Gov. Rick Scott has ordered state flags at half-staff outside the Clay County Sheriffs Office, Green Cove Springs City Hall and Clay County Courthouse on Feb. 20 for Clay County Sheriffs Office Detective David White, who was killed during a gunfight Thursday night in Middleburg.
The order is from sunrise to sunset.
