AAA: Gas Prices Growing with 'No Relief' in the Forecast
A gallon of gas in Florida jumped 20 cents in the past month and AAA notes no relief is expected soon.
A couple of weeks ago, it looked as if consumers might see some relief at the pump after oil prices traded below $100 a barrel for several consecutive weeks, but that is no longer the case, Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman, stated in a release.
The price at the pump continues to increase and break monthly records and it doesnt look like relief will come anytime soon. Global headlines fueled a bullish market last week and pushed oil prices to a nine-month high.
Across Florida, the average price of a gallon of gas stood at $3.67 on Monday, up from $3.63 a week earlier and $3.47 a month prior.A year ago, the same gallon of gas cost $3.15 on average.
Floridas average is above the national mark of $3.56 a gallon, which is 1 cent higher than a gallon costs on average in Georgia. California and Hawaii are already above $4 a gallon.
