Rick Scott Orders Flags Half-Staff for Slain Clay County Detective

Gov. Rick Scott has ordered state flags at half-staff outside the Clay County Sheriffs Office, Green Cove Springs City Hall and Clay County Courthouse on Feb. 20 for Clay County Sheriffs Office Detective David White, who was killed during a gunfight Thursday night in Middleburg.

The order is from sunrise to sunset.

White, a nine-year veteran, was killed while investigating a tip about a meth lab at the home, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll is scheduled to attend the viewing for White Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Russell Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs.
