Steve MacNamara Resigns; Adam Hollingsworth Named Chief of Staff

Gov. Rick Scotts chief of staff Steve MacNamara, who has been in the crosshairs of a number of media reports in the past week, resigned Saturday. See his letter of resignation in the attachment below.

Jacksonville native Adam Hollingsworth was named as his replacement. Hollingsworth, who heads the right-of-way division for Flagler Development Group, formerly served as chief of staff to Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton.

Scott released the following statement thanking MacNamara for his service.

Trudi Williams to End Challenge to Lizbeth Benacquisto

State Rep. Trudi Williams, R-Fort Myers, told the News Press on Friday she will end her challenge for the state Senate: "Williams said she wants to focus on her family and her TKW Engineering firm, given the recession and time demanded in Tallahassee, along with recent family illnesses and death."

Adam Fetterman Seeks Return to Florida House

Former state representative Adam Fetterman, a single-term Democrat from Port St. Lucie, is looking to return to Tallahassee in a new district that could favor the minority party.

Fetterman, an attorney who works for the St. Lucie County Sheriffs Office, was knocked from office by the previously term-limited state Rep. Gayle Harrell, R-Stuart, in 2010.
