Trudi Williams to End Challenge to Lizbeth Benacquisto

State Rep. Trudi Williams, R-Fort Myers, told the News Press on Friday she will end her challenge for the state Senate: "Williams said she wants to focus on her family and her TKW Engineering firm, given the recession and time demanded in Tallahassee, along with recent family illnesses and death."

The move eliminates the party challenge for state Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto, R-Fort Myers.

"Circumstances have convinced me this is not the right time for me to continue in public service, Williams told the News Press.

Williams cant run for her state House seat this fall because of state term limits.
